Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police launched a preventive campaign to stop minors from joining public demonstrations that risk turning into riots. Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday (12/9/2026), 

Director of Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari outlined multi-agency strategies involving parents, educators, Bhabinkamtibmas community police, and specialized investigators.

"We are preparing preventive measures to ensure children do not participate in future street demonstrations," she said. "Parents and educators must ensure students remain in classrooms during school hours."

The preventive initiative follows the handling of hundreds of minors linked to riots following protests near the House of Representatives (DPR)I building on 27 August 2026. 

Chief Rita said that legal procedures target unlawful acts rather than peaceful civic assembly. To enhance protection, the Metro Jaya  Police launched the "Lapor, Bu!" hotline at 081214110110 for reporting issues concerning women and children across 13 local police jurisdictions.
