Inp.polri.go.id - Tanjung Selor. The North Kalimantan Regional Police Directorate of Community Development intensified educational outreach to prevent forest and land fires across vulnerable regions.
Speaking in Tanjung Selor on Saturday (12/9/2026), Director of Community Development Senior Superintendent Try Handoko W.P. stated that officers regularly visit communities to raise awareness regarding fire hazards and environmental preservation.
"Personnel continuously conduct socialization and education as a preventive measure to raise public awareness about the dangers and impacts of forest fire," he said.
During an outreach session on Kasimuddin Street in Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency, on Friday, officers advised residents against dangerous activities such as open land burning.
Chief Try urged local community members to report active fire spots or high-risk clearing activities immediately by utilizing the official Police Call Center 110 hotline to enable rapid emergency response.
