The Metro Jaya Regional Police deploys 7,706 joint personnel from the police and military for polling stations security across the city, states the police chief, Inspector General Karyoto during the send-off rally. “On this occasion, we have prepared 7,706 personnel consisted of 6,506 police troops and 1,200 military soldiers,” said Karyoto quoted from tempo on Tuesday (2/13/2024). It is worth noting that the deployment parade was also attended by Jaya Regional Military Commander, Major General Mohamad Hasan and key officials of Metro Jaya Regional and Jaya Regional Military Command key officials. Furthermore, Karyoto also states personnel has also been prepared for contingency situation during the voting and recapitulation day. He then reminds his thousands troops to not act excessively in security if there are escalations in polling stations. “Therefore, it is necessary to hold tight communication with the military, related stakeholders, and public in calming the situation in polling station,” adds Karyoto.
