Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  General Agus Subiyanto has introduced the Habema Operational Command (Koops Habema) to streamline operational strategies between the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) in addressing conflicts across Papua. He believed that Koops Habema, abbreviated for "must succeed to the maximum," will significantly improve conflict management in Papua, antaranews.com reported. Over recent years, the region has experienced disruptions and assaults from the armed criminal group. "My approach for Papua involves smart power, a blend of soft power, hard power, and military diplomacy. Establishing the Habema Operational Command is a key step in ensuring maximum success. This command aims to integrate the military and police operational methods, enhancing the effectiveness of conflict resolution in Papua," said Commander Agus during the 2024 TNI-INP Leadership Meeting held at the Military Headquarters in Cilangkap, Jakarta, on Wednesday. Major General Nugraha Gumilar, the Military Chief of Information Center, confirmed that Koops Habema was recently established, although he did not provide the exact date of its formation. Habema, named after a lake in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains, sits as one of Indonesia's highest lakes, nestled at an altitude of over 3,300 meters above sea level at the base of Mount Trikora.
