Inp.polri.go.id - Mimika. The Mimika Sub-Regional Police led by its Head of Society Guidance Section Police First Inspector Paulus Randeratiu conducted the "Pi Ajar" program at the Binmas Noken Reading Park in Kwamki Narama District, Mimika Regency on Monday (13/3/23).
Supported by his four personnel, he conducted activities such as teaching the children how to read and write since the program targeting at children, who have dropped out of school or are not attending school in the Mimika Regency area.
"We found that there are still children who cannot read at all, so we're carrying out this initiative. Meanwhile, for those who can read and write, we separate them into two groups," said the police inspector, who also serves as the Head of 2023 Rasaka Cartenz Operational Task Force within the jurisdiction of Mimika Sub-Regional Police.
He highlighted that the program's current focus for the time being is teaching children, who can already read and write, and introducing letters and numbers for those who are still illiterate.
