Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi called on special management for traffic bottlenecks and rest areas on West Java toll roads during the 2024 Eid Al-Fitr homecoming period.
He highlighted congestion points and rest areas as significant factors contributing to traffic jams in West Java, especially at Cipali and Cisumdawu toll roads, to prevent bottlenecks at KM 125, as reported by antaranews.com.
To improve traffic flow, Minister Budi Karya suggested the deployment of female police officers at rest areas as a persuasive measure. He stressed the importance of supporting traditional marketplace vendors to protect their livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, the Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps ,identified critical points for the 2024 homecoming season, including KM 152 of the Cipali toll road.
Police measures will include contraflows, one-way systems, and deploying teams to ensure compliance with traffic regulations, he said. Chief Aan also anticipates the implementation of the Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road to manage vehicle flow.
The Eid al-Fitr holiday is estimated to fall on 10 and 11 April 2024, with an expected 193 million travelers, a significant increase from 2023.
