Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs  Tito Karnavian has praised on Friday (12/12/2025) firefighters nationwide for their integrity and selfless service, saying their professionalism has strengthened public trust in emergency services. 

“Firefighters are known for working without ulterior motives and not asking for money, and that is why the public respects them,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Minister Tito noted that public satisfaction with the fire agencies’ services averages around 90 percent across regions, with several provinces recording satisfaction levels as high as 97 percent. According to the minister, the positive perception reflects firefighters’ speed and responsiveness in handling emergencies.

Tito explained that the fire agency's role has expanded beyond fire suppression to include rescue operations. In 2024 alone, Indonesia recorded 20,427 fire incidents, while rescue operations reached 56,423 cases.

As the supervisory authority for firefighters, Minister Tito urged regional governments to strengthen the fire agencies capacity by increasing personnel numbers, improving training, and ensuring adequate institutional support to maintain fast, professional public services.
