Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has issued an advisory on Saturday (13/12/2025) urging regional administrations and the public to remain vigilant against potential extreme weather triggered by two tropical cyclone seeds detected in the Indian Ocean.
“Both systems could indirectly increase rainfall intensity, strong winds, and sea wave heights in several parts of Indonesia,” said BNPB Head of Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Abdul Muhari, as cited by antaranews.com
According to meteorological analysis , Cyclone Seed 91S is located west of Lampung and may bring moderate to heavy rain to West Sumatra, Bengkulu, and Lampung, along with strong coastal winds. Meanwhile, Cyclone Seed 93S south of Sumba could affect Bali, West and East Nusa Tenggara, Java, Jakarta, South Sulawesi, and Maluku through atmospheric convergence.
BNPB warned that these conditions raise the risk of floods, landslides, and wind-related damage. Authorities and communities were advised to monitor official updates, secure vulnerable structures, and prepare emergency supplies.
