Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs took down 4,198,606 pieces of negative content between October 2024 and mid-April 2026, intensifying its crackdown on illegal online activities to protect the public from destructive digital influences.

"This removal of 4.1 million negative content is a concrete manifestation of the state's presence in protecting citizens from the destructive impacts of illegal content," said Alexander Sabar, the Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry, on Saturday (18/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.

Online gambling dominated the enforcement actions with over 3.2 million cases, followed by pornography and fraudulent schemes. The ministry utilized advanced monitoring to sweep websites and social media platforms, with Meta and file-sharing services identified as the most frequent hosts for prohibited material.

The Indonesian Video Streaming Association (AVISI) lauded the initiative, particularly for addressing 9,217 intellectual property violations. Industry leaders emphasized that such rigorous enforcement provides a vital foundation for the creative economy, ensuring a safe and competitive ecosystem for local creators and digital service providers.
