Inp.polri.go.id - Malang.  A motorcyclist in Batu City, East Java, was shot by an unknown assailant while traveling on Wukir street in the Temas neighborhood on Thursday afternoon (10/10/2024).

Batu Police Office Chief, Superintendent Anton Hendry Subagijo, said that the incident occurred around 1.30 pm local time in front of the Temas Village Office. The victim, a 35-year-old local resident, was riding with his wife and child when the shooter, also on a motorcycle, overtook him.

The assailant then turned back and opened fire, shooting the victim in the upper left chest. After the shooting, the victim managed to pull over while the shooter fled north toward Pandan Rejo.

Police have yet to identify the type of firearm used, as the bullet remains lodged in the victim’s body, necessitating further analysis. The victim is currently in the ICU at Hasta Brata Hospital, where doctors plan to perform surgery tomorrow.], as reported by antaranews.com.

Village Head Adi Santoso reported hearing a loud bang and initially mistook it for firecrackers, confirming that the suspect acted alone and wore a helmet during the attack.
