Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. - The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s International Relations Division will verify the data of a Chinese Interpol fugitive detained by the Directorate General of Immigration in Bali on 1 October 2024.

"We have received the red notice subject and will undertake verification and validation of the allegations against him," said the International Relations Division Chief Inspector General Krishna Murti during a press conference at the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta on Thursday (10/10/2024).

The fugitive, identified as LQ, also known as JL (39), entered Indonesia legally using a Turkish passport. However, the red notice was issued by Chinese authorities related to a fraudulent investment scheme.

Chief Krishna explained that his division would validate the suspect’s citizenship with Turkish and Chinese authorities, emphasizing the importance of respecting individual rights. If LQ is confirmed as a Chinese citizen, legal actions will follow.

Regarding LQ’s extradition, he said that the timeline is uncertain due to its complexity and the need for cooperation between countries.

On Thursday, the Directorate General of Immigration handed over LQ to the INP International Relations Division, marking a significant step in addressing the fraudulent scheme involving approximately 50,000 victims and losses totaling 100 billion Yuan (around Rp 210 trillion).

LQ entered Indonesia on 26 September 2024, under the alias Joe Lin using a Visa on Arrival. He was arrested on 1 October2024 while attempting to leave for Singapore.
