Inp.polri.go.id - East Flores. Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, erupted 19 times on Sunday (21/9/2025) between noon and 6 pm local time., spewing ash columns up to 3,500 meters above the summit. 

The eruption sent ash plumes rising to around 5,084 meters above sea level.

“The eruptions were recorded with amplitudes ranging from 7.4 to 47.3 millimeters and lasted between 166 and 303 seconds,” said Emanuel Rofinus Bere, the officer at the Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki Observation Post, as reported by antaranews.com 

He noted additional seismic activity including avalanche quakes, emission quakes, low-frequency quakes, and distant tectonic tremors.

Authorities confirmed the volcano remains at Alert Level IV (Awas), the highest warning status. Residents and visitors are prohibited from entering a six-kilometer radius around the crater and up to seven kilometers in the southwest–northeast sector. 

Officials also warned of possible cold lava floods during heavy rain and urged people to wear masks against volcanic ash exposure.
