Inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. After a 10-day closure for safety reviews and trail repairs, Mount Rinjani’s hiking routes will reopen on 11 August 2025, the Gunung Rinjani National Park Authority (TNGR) announced Sunday (10/8/2025).
The reopening follows intensive evaluation and a complete overhaul of trekking management, including upgraded safety measures, revised standard of procedure (SOPs), grade IV trail classification, mandatory guide ratios, and enhanced insurance and contingency systems.
All visitors must now purchase entry tickets online via the official app, according to antaranews.com
Six popular destinations in the park were closed from 1–10 August 2025 after a serious incident at Segara Anak Lake. Existing ticket holders may reschedule for the remainder of the 2025 climbing season or request a full refund.
TNGR Chief Yarman said the changes aim to ensure both safety and comfort for visitors, with periodic policy reviews planned.
