inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) hopes that the school environment orientation period (MPLS) will become an important tool for building an anti-violence commitment among all parties.

"To break the chain of violence in the school environment, commonly known as bullying and harassment, MPLS must be an important tool for building an anti-violence commitment among all parties, including fellow students, teachers, education personnel, and parents," said KPAI member Aris Adi Leksono on Tuesday (7/15/2025).

This effort is crucial because KPAI monitoring results indicate that the chain of violence in educational institutions is difficult to break due to the normalization of inherited violent practices in various forms, both physical and verbal.

KPAI also emphasized the importance of school principals and teachers ensuring that violence is eliminated during every stage of the MPLS implementation.

The MPLS committee was also asked to include teachers as supervisors and facilitators at each event, to ensure that violence, discrimination, and other forms of mistreatment do not occur during the MPLS.

KPAI hopes that MPLS can be used as a means of education and socialization of steps to prevent and handle violence in educational units.
