inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Food Task Force has questioned 22 witnesses regarding the alleged rice quality discrepancies found on the market. However, no details were provided on the witnesses' sources.

"Investigators have questioned 6 companies and 8 brands of 5-kg rice packages, bringing the total number of witnesses questioned to 22," explained Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf, Head of INP Food Task Force, to reporters on Tuesday (7/15/2025).

Brigadier General Helfi explained that the questioning was to investigate whether there was any illegal activity related to the alleged sale of rice in packages that did not conform to the composition stated on the packaging. He revealed that the investigative team is currently questioning other parties.

"Starting today, investigators from the INP Food Task Force are questioning 25 other brands of 5-kg rice packages," said Brigadier General Helfi.

It is known that information circulating indicates that 10 rice producers are being investigated. However, not all of them have been examined by the Food Task Force.
