inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia supports President Prabowo Subianto's efforts to call for world peace in international forums, including for Palestinian independence.
This was conveyed by MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani during his introductory speech at the 2025 MPR Annual Session at the Parliament Building, Jakarta, Friday (August 15, 2025).
"The MPR welcomes President Prabowo Subianto's efforts to consistently call for peace in international forums regarding new world governance, including his support for Palestinian independence," said the MPR Speaker.
As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the world remains fraught with suffering and loss.
"Amidst our joy, millions of people in other parts of the world are deprived of their basic rights, namely the right to life, the right to own a home, and even the right to a brighter future," stated the MPR Speaker.
Currently, the MPR Speaker stated, tensions are rising in various parts of the world, such as in the Middle East, particularly between Iran and Israel.
Furthermore, a protracted conflict in Gaza, Palestine, has been occurring, fulfilling elements of genocide.
"Nearly 100,000 lives have been lost. The majority of them are women and children, and hospitals and schools have been destroyed, leaving behind a mess of despair," said the Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI).
He emphasized that Indonesia's foreign policy must remain aligned with humanitarian struggles, including firm and consistent support for Palestinian independence.
This principle has been demonstrated by Indonesia through the Asia-Africa Conference (KAA) and the Non-Aligned Movement. He believes these steps are an international monument and a source of inspiration for nations around the world.
Therefore, the MPR RI supports President Prabowo's efforts to consistently advocate for world peace in various international forums.
