inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI Eddy Soeparno said that the experience and education that has been taken by state civil servants (ASN) are important considerations in extending the retirement age, but there must also be considerations regarding employee regeneration and career levels.

This was conveyed by Eddy in response to the polemic of the discourse on extending the retirement age of ASN to 70 years.

"We should not let the promising young employees with adequate education, have long experience in their careers but are held back because the right regeneration system is not implemented," said Eddy in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025).

Eddy emphasized that the thing that must be a priority at this time is human resource (HR) management in order to improve the quality of HR as a whole.

"Therefore, the priority to be done at this time is improving the quality of HR to talent management that pays attention to the needs of ASN regeneration," said Eddy.

This Doctor of Political Science from UI hopes that fixing the problem of bureaucratic regeneration will have a greater impact on government policies and public services.

"The career and position ladder system must be prepared well. Those who have long experience, quality top management capabilities may be able to have their retirement extended according to needs,"
