Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that former Education Minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim was named a prospective suspect in an alleged corruption case linked to the procurement of Google Cloud services at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, before the investigation was transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO).
“Yes, the same one, NM,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, the Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the KPK, on Thursday (20/11/2025) in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
His remarks clarify previous statements from KPK Chair Setyo Budiyanto, who indicated that the Google Cloud investigation involved the same key figures as the Chromebook procurement scandal, currently being prosecuted by the AGO.
Asep also mentioned former special adviser to Nadiem, Jurist Tan, as a second prospective suspect. However, he noted that some names differ between the two cases.
The AGO has already charged Nadiem and four former officials and consultants in the Chromebook procurement case. Nadiem was questioned by the KPK in August 2025 regarding the Google Cloud procurement, which the KPK insists is a separate investigation but involves overlapping actors and a shared digitalization program under his leadership.
