Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. NasDem Party has replaced Ahmad Sahroni as Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Commission III, which oversees law enforcement, reassigning him Commission I, which handles defense, communications, and foreign affairs.
“This is a routine rotation, not a dismissal, only a refresh,” NasDem Secretary-General Hermawi Taslim told reporters on Friday (29/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com
The decision was signed by NasDem’s DPR faction leader Viktor Laiskodat and Sahroni himself, in his capacity as the faction’s secretary, and addressed to DPR Speaker Puan Maharani. His successor as Deputy Chair of Commission III is Rusdi Masse Mappasessu, previously a member of Commission IV.
Sahroni has been under fire for a series of controversial comments. Earlier this week, he endorsed the detention of underage protesters involved in street clashes, calling their behavior “disgraceful” and “unacceptable.”
He previously stirred public anger after labeling those calling to dissolve parliament as “the dumbest people on earth.”
