inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the NasDem Party has decided to suspend Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach as members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) from the NasDem faction after reviewing the current dynamics.
The decree deactivating Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach was signed by NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh and NasDem Party Secretary General Hermawi Taslim. With this decision, Sahroni and Nafa Urbach will no longer be members of DPR, effective Monday, September 1, 2025.
"The aspirations of the people must remain the main reference in the NasDem Party's struggle," said Hermawi in Jakarta, Sunday.
Regarding the various events that have occurred recently, he emphasized that the NasDem Party expressed its deepest condolences for the deaths of a number of Indonesian citizens who had lost their lives in the struggle for their aspirations.
He also said that the statements of the people's representatives which had offended and hurt the people's feelings were a deviation from the NasDem Party's struggle.
"The NasDem Party's struggle is truly a crystallization of the people's spirit that is always based on the national goals of the Indonesian nation, as stated in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution," said Hermawi.
Previously, Ahmad Sahroni had also been removed from his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of DPR. Furthermore, Sahroni's house in the Tanjung Priok was also vandalized and looted by a mob following his controversial remarks.
