inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) emphasized that food self-sufficiency is one of the government's top priorities because it directly relates to the people's right to sufficient food and the welfare of farmers who produce food.

"We want to prioritize food as food self-sufficiency concerns the rights of the people and farmers," said Zulhas on Tuesday (6/2/2026).

The government continues to strengthen various policies to achieve national food security and self-sufficiency. He stated that efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency are not solely a matter of production, but also concern the interests of the people at large.

Zulhas stated that the transformation of the food sector continues through regulatory reforms that support accelerated development in the food sector.

In the past year and a half, the government has issued 33 regulations, consisting of Government Regulations (PP), Presidential Regulations (Perpres), Presidential Instructions (Inpres), and Presidential Decrees (Kepres).

"These regulations serve as the foundation for strengthening the food ecosystem, including strengthening farmer welfare," said Zulhas.
