inp.polri.go.id - Daily Chairperson of the National Police Commission, Benny Mamoto, accompanied by the Director of General Crime Investigation of Papua Police, Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani, and the Mimika Police Chief, AKBP I Gede Putra, inspected the crime scene of mutilation murder case on Budi Utomo Ujung Street, Friday (2/9/22).
Arriving at the location, they immediately reviewed the scene and listened the information given by the Mimika Police Chief and the Papua Police General Crime Investigation Director.
After reviewing the crime scene, the group then listened to the presentation of the handling of the case and the appointment of evidence by the Mimika Police Criminal Investigation Unit at the Mimika Police HQ, was also attended by the National Human Rights Commission of Papua, Frits Ramandey.
“This morning we reviewed the crime scene, where shootings, murders, and money confiscations took place. We were also given the opportunity to see the presentation from the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, accompanied by National Human Rights Commission of Papua," explained the Daily Chief of Kompolnas.
Furthermore, he said, he appreciated the steps taken by the National Police in an effort to uncover this particular case, in which the Police investigation process has used the Scientific Crime Investigation approach, so that with the available evidence and supported by the statements of witnesses, the process of evidence in court is expected to be much smoother.
"This is a step of Polri's transparency in handling this case, we appreciate it because with the transparency of this case, we hope that this case can be resolved objectively and can be sent to the prosecutor's office as soon as possible, so that the public will be able to oversee the trial process and know what really happened," explained Benny Mamoto.
“This case has caught the public's attention, even the president. Besides that, the completion of this case by hunting down fugitives needs to be intensified. We also hope that anticipatory steps need to be taken in order to minimize the impact of this case. Once again, we give high appreciation for the performance that has been shown by the police, and hopefully this case will be resolved soon," concluded Benny.
