Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed a strict stance against companies using fire to clear land, saying there will be no tolerance for such practices.
“President Prabowo is committed to holding corporations accountable for land entrusted to them by the state,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan in Jakarta on Sunday (3/8/2025). “There will be no tolerance for land burning.”
The President instructed ministries to provide access to modern, environmentally friendly land-clearing technology, addressing the needs of both companies and communities.
“He is committed to offering efficient and eco-friendly alternatives,”Minister Budi Gunawan added, as quoted by antaranews.com
According to the latest report, forest and land fires across Indonesia have dropped significantly. As of August 1, 2025, burned areas total 8,955 hectares, down 33.3% from 13,422 hectares in the same period last year.
The government will continue enforcing a comprehensive fire prevention strategy that combines law enforcement, technology, and readiness.
