Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. A video has gone viral showing two groups of people clashing in Bitung, North Sulawesi, which are said to be the two groups of pro-Palestinians and the pro-Israeli. However, according to the North Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto, he confirms that there are no pro-Israeli group involved in the brawl. “One of the groups is celebrating its 12th anniversary while the other is having a social activity in support of the Palestinians. Probably there are some other reasons which caused the commotion,” explain the North Sulawesi Police Chief on Saturday (11/25/2023). Regional government reportedly has to dispatch the joint forces of Indonesian Military and National Police to disperse the mass. “For now, we are focusing on suppressing the tension to cool down the situation and prevent things from escalating. For now, everything has been under control. We are now only patrolling the area for security reasons and we hope tonight to tomorrow everything would eventually turned alright,” he concluded.
