President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Acting Chairman Nawawi Pomolango, at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (27/11/23). The swearing-in took place after the President signed Presidential Decree Number 116 of 2023, temporarily removing KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and designating Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango as the KPK Acting Chairman, effective November 24, 2023. In his oath before the President, Nawawi declared, "In the name of Allah, I swear that in carrying out this duty, directly or indirectly, using any name or method, I will not give or promise anything to anyone." Pledging to avoid any acceptance of promises or gifts, Nawawi vowed to fulfill his duties as the Acting Chairman of KPK with diligence, care, objectivity, honesty, courage, fairness, and without discrimination based on position, ethnicity, religion, race, gender, or any specific groups. "I swear that I will always reject or not accept or be influenced by any interference from anyone, and I will remain steadfast in carrying out my duties and authorities entrusted to me by the law," he said.
