Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto directly inspected conditions at Mount Sinabung in Karo Regency on Tuesday (1/9/2026), following the volcano's eruption a day earlier.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Brigadier General Naek Pamen Simanjuntak and key officials, he visited the Sinabung Volcano Observation Post in Ndokum Siroga Village to examine monitoring tools and receive technical briefings on volcanic activity.

"The North Sumatra Police Chief wants to ensure firsthand the post-eruption conditions of Mount Sinabung and the readiness of field personnel to provide service and protection to the public," said North Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ferry Walintukan

The delegation also reviewed the Disaster Preparedness Post in Namanteran District, where Whisnu handed out police aid packages to deployed officers to bolster front-line operational readiness.
