Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have deployed four sniffer dogs to assist in the search for three people missing after flash floods struck Mauponggo District, Nagekeo Regency, as it intensified post-disaster operations despite the official suspension of search and rescue efforts.
“The sniffer dogs were dispatched this morning with several personnel to strengthen operations in the field,” NTT Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Darmoko said on Tuesday (16/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Rudi, who has been on the ground in Nagekeo to oversee aid distribution, emphasized that police resources are being maximized to support both search efforts and recovery operations. He added that reinforcements from regional police units have also been mobilized.
Authorities hope the dogs will arrive in Nagekeo by Wednesday to aid in locating the remaining victims.
