Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is preparing a Presidential Decree to establish a Police Reform Commission tasked with drafting proposals to overhaul the Indonesian National Police (INP),Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra confirmed on Tuesday (16/9/2025).

“The decree is already being prepared and may be issued within a day or two,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

The minister explained the commission will be given several months to produce recommendations on the structure, duties, and powers of the police.

The findings will later be used to revise Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, which has been in effect for over two decades. According to Minister Yusril, the law must be updated to reflect current realities and growing public demands for reform.
