The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga and his delegation inspected polling stations in Kupang City on Wednesday (14/2/2024). Chief Daniel revealed that despite the slight hindrance of rainy weather, the community showed high enthusiasm in exercising their voting rights at the polling stations. "The elections are considered a celebration of democracy, and the people participate willingly," he said during the visit, which was attended by NTT Military Commander Brigadier GeneralFebriel Buyung Sikumbang, and several members of Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkompimda) of NTT. Chief Daniel said that polling station officers (KPPS), public order officers (Linmas), and police personnel were present at the polling stations, carrying out their duties effectively, ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections. He assessed that the situation was not prone to risks, as the community could monitor and participate in the counting process according to regulations. With the presence of witnesses, 7 KPPS members, Linmas officers, and recordings of the calculation results, it is expected that the elections in the NTT region will proceed safely and orderly, he said. The Police Chief reiterated the call for the public to maintain a conducive atmosphere and avoid disputes due to differences in election preferences.
