Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang.  The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police has deployed 902 personnel for Operation Zebra Turangga 2024, aimed at promoting safe and orderly traffic across the province.

NTT Deputy Chief Brigadier General Awi Setiyono announced on Monday (14/10/2024) that the 14-day operation, running from 14 to 27 October 2024, seeks to improve traffic safety and also assist in securing the upcoming inauguration of the President and Vice President-elect.

"The operation focuses on increasing driver discipline and enforcing traffic rules," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

Key violations being targeted include using mobile phones while driving, underage driving, and failure to wear helmets or seat belts.

Despite a reduction in accidents in the first half of 2024, Chief Setiyono stressed the importance of continued prevention and enforcement..

The operation will prioritize educational and persuasive approaches, supported by electronic law enforcement to ensure traffic order and safety.
