Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Former U.S. President Barack Obama has selected three young Indonesians for the 2025 Obama Foundation Fellowship, preparing them to become global leaders. The announcement coincided with the UN General Assembly in New York and COP30 in Brazil.
“The fellowship will bring Billy Mambrasar, Hatta Kresna Aditya, and Nashin Mahtani to the United States to meet Obama and join international development programs,” the foundation said Friday (26/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Mambrasar, a Harvard graduate from Papua and former presidential special staff, founded Kitong Bisa to provide free education in Papua and co-initiated ContAIDner, a plastic waste reduction movement. Hatta, an ITB alumnus from Bandung, established Rahsa Nusantara to empower Indigenous communities and protect the environment. Mahtani, a University of Waterloo graduate, created Peta Bencana Nasional, a disaster-mapping tool used by Indonesia’s BNPB for flood, wildfire, and earthquake responses.
The three were chosen for their community work, academic achievements, and leadership track records.
