Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian badminton players booked a strong presence in the Korea Open 2025 semifinals, with representatives in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
“Already in the semifinals, the focus now is on recovery because today’s match was exhausting. Tomorrow we must dare to fight, push through fatigue, and battle hard on court,” said shuttler Amri Syahnawi after he and Nita Violina edged past China’s Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui in a three-game thriller on Friday (26/9/2025).
They next face world No.1 Feng Yan Zhe/Dong Ping Huang.
In men’s singles, Jonatan “Jojo” Christie overcame Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto and will meet compatriot Alwi Farhan, who upset China’s Hong Yang.
“It means a lot, my first Super 500 semifinal, and I’ll finally face my idol Jojo. Whoever wins, it’s for Indonesia,” Alwi commented, as reported by antaranews.com.
Meanwhile, Putri Kusuma Wardani dominated Korea’s Kim Ga Eun and will challenge Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri also advanced, defeating Korea’s Jin Yong/Na Sung Seung.
