inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has blocked 33,252 accounts suspected of being linked to online gambling, an increase from the previous record of 32,556 accounts.

OJK Chief Executive for Banking Supervision, Dian Ediana Rae, explained that the blocking was the result of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requested from banks by the OJK.

"Related to eradicating online gambling, which has a broad impact on the economy and financial sector, the OJK has also requested that banks conduct EDD, or the blocking of 33,252 accounts suspected of being involved in online gambling," said Head Dian, Monday (April 6, 2026).

Meanwhile, to enforce regulations and protect consumers in the banking sector, from January to March 2026, the OJK revoked the business licenses of six People's Economic Banks (BPR).

The BPRs whose licenses were revoked include PT BPR Koperindo Jaya, based in Central Jakarta, and PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari, based in Agam Regency, West Sumatra.

Head Dian stated that the OJK consistently coordinates with the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in addressing issues involving BPRs/Sharia-compliant BPRs (BPRS), in accordance with the mandate stipulated in Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK).

"To consistently and sustainably uphold the integrity of the financial system, the OJK requires support from the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK), the government, the House of Representatives (DPR), all law enforcement agencies, and other relevant parties," she explained.
