The Chief Executive of the Financial Services Business Actors' Behavior Supervisory, Education, and Consumer Protection (PEPK) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi, appealed to the public to continue to maintain the confidentiality and security of personal data throughout 2025.

Friderica predicts that reports of external fraud will remain high this year, given the increasingly widespread use of technology and the lack of public understanding of the importance of protecting personal data.

"Consumers and the public are expected to understand that their personal data is important and to implement various security steps to maintain the confidentiality and security of their personal data," said Friderica on Thursday (1/16/2025).

She also highlighted the increasing mode of fraud in investment offers, which continues to develop with new variations. Therefore, the public is reminded to always check the legality and validity of each offer, and to adhere to the Legal and Logical (2L) principles. The public can also utilize the OJK complaint service through number 157.

"Don't be easily tempted by offers that sound too attractive. Make sure first whether the offer is reasonable or not," added Friderica.
