Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Health assured that the free human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines provided through the School Immunization Month (BIAS) program are both safe and of high quality. 

Prima Yosephine, the Health MInistry’s Director of Immunization Management, confirmed on Tuesday (13/8/2024) that these vaccines are identical to those used in medical practices and are approved by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).

"Despite being free, these vaccines are equivalent in quality to those available in health services," she said, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

Prima emphasized that the vaccines are funded by the government through taxpayer money, making it crucial for parents to take advantage of this opportunity.

The National Committee for Adverse Events Following Immunization (Komnas KIPI) monitors any post-vaccination issues. Since the program's national rollout in 2023, 2.9 million children have been vaccinated. Parents are encouraged to utilize this resource to safeguard their children's health and prevent cervical cancer.
