The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s  Operation Mantap Brata 2023-2024 commenced during the registration of presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 elections at the Indonesian Election Commission (KPU RI) in Jakarta on Thursday (19/8/23). The Head of INP's Public Relations Division Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said that the INP has deployed security personnel for the registration of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, involving the Regional Task Force of Jakarta Metro  Regional Police and Preventive Security Task Force. "A total of 2,062 personnel from the Regional Task Force of the Jakarta Metro Regional Police have been deployed for security," he said. In securing the registration process for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, the INP Chief Spokesperson explained that that the INP stationed its personnel in several locations, including the KPU building, and managed traffic around the building. Operation Mantap Brata 2023-2024 involves 261,695 police personnel from the INP Headquarters and regional police forces across Indonesia, which are assigned with securing the 2024 elections for 222 days, from 19 October 2023 to 20 October 2024.
