Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Chief of Yogyakarta Regional Police Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan has called upon all political party factions to avoide conflicts during the 2024 elections. "I urge my colleagues to oversee the 2024 election process, ensuring it proceeds without any confrontations," he said during a meeting between political parties from across Yogyakarta, the Indonesian Military and Indonesian National Police (INP) in Yogyakarta on Wednesday (18/10/23). The police chief advised over 100 political party members in Yogyakarta who attended the meeting to support the elected leader in the 2024 elections. "After the quick count, I expect a joyful gathering without any casualties," he was quoted by antaranews.com as saying. Chief Nainggolan underscored Yogyakarta's unique ability to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing that this diversity should not hinder constructive dialogue within the Special Region of Yogyakarta. "Unlike other regions, security holds paramount importance in Yogyakarta. As a prominent tourism city, it is imperative to minimize any potential for violence," he asserted. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
