Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Operation Merdeka Jaya 2025, a joint effort by the Indonesian National Police, Indonesian Military (TNI), government agencies, and the public, was declared a success in securing the 80th Independence Day celebrations in Jakarta on Sunday (17/8/2025).

INP Traffic Police Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho highlighted the professionalism of the police.

“Through cooperation and solidarity, the 80th Independence Day commemoration was safe, orderly, and successful,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com

Senior Superintendent Komarudin, the Director of Traffic at Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, added that public safety and convenience were their top priorities, with traffic kept under control and access well maintained so citizens could celebrate comfortably.

The operation deployed more than 9,000 personnel to manage traffic, guard official ceremonies, parades, and carnivals. 

Authorities also provided parking areas, shuttle access, tow trucks, and ambulances. Public discipline and use of discounted public transport further ensured smooth celebrations.
