inp.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. The Gorontalo Regional Police officially launched Operation Patuh Otanaha 2026, which will last for 14 days, from October 26 to November 8, 2026. This operation is a police initiative to improve public discipline in traffic while simultaneously reducing the number of violations and accidents on the roads.

Addressing the media on Monday (10/26/2026), the Vice Chief of the Gorontalo Regional Police, Brigadier General Dedy Suhartono, stated that Operation Patuh 2026 emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the police and the community in creating a culture of orderly traffic.

Dedy emphasized that road safety must be a shared responsibility. The high number of violations and the risk of accidents demand concrete action through education, supervision, and consistent and measured law enforcement.

"This operation involves approximately 300 personnel from the Gorontalo Regional Police, with support from relevant agencies, including the Transportation Agency and elements of the Indonesian National Military (TNI)," he said.

Furthermore, Dedy stated that the police is prioritizing a preemptive, preventive, and repressive approach to raise public awareness and take action against violations that could potentially endanger safety.

"In its implementation, officers will optimize law enforcement through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE), non-ETLE ticketing, and sympathetic warnings. Every action will be carried out selectively and professionally, adhering to applicable regulations," he concluded.

The Vice Chief of the Gorontalo Regional Police also reminded all personnel involved to carry out their duties responsibly, professionally, and with a humane attitude. Personnel are asked to avoid actions that could harm the public or undermine public trust in the police.

Through Operation Patuh Otanaha 2026, the Gorontalo Regional Police hope that the public will increasingly understand that complying with traffic regulations is not solely to avoid sanctions, but rather as an effort to protect themselves and other road users.
