Inp.polri.go.id - Surakarta. The closing ceremony of the 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in Surakarta, Central Java will feature more than 180 dancers, led by choreographer Eko Supriyanto.

"Of the total, some dancers are from groups of individuals with disabilities, including those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, and physically disabled," he said on Saturday (12/10/2024), as reported by antaranews.com..

Eko collaborated with various institutions, such as YPAC, State Special School SLB Cangakan Karanganyar, and Special School SLB/A YKAB Solo, as well as artistic groups like Langen Projo Mangkunegaran and Semarak Candra Kirana.

He emphasized showcasing Surakarta’'s potential, including its vibrant arts community and the opportunity for disabled performers to shine.

The ceremony will also incorporate traditions from Surakarta;s Pura Mangkunegaran royal palace, specifically the SantiSwaran ritual, which involves a procession honoring God and the Prophet Muhammad.

The performance will tell the story of Sukrasana Sumantri, symbolic of Javanese shadow puppet characters, illustrating the importance of pursuing collective goals. The tale emphasizes collaboration among heroes like Gatotkaca and Semar in achieving aspirations.
