Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)  Jakarta recorded that 45,382 passengers departed from the capital via long-distance trains on Friday (13/2/2026), marking a significant upward trend in homebound travel eight days before the 2026 Lebaran holiday.

“This figure shows a steady increase from previous days, with Pasar Senen and Gambir remaining the busiest hubs, handling 18,657 and 14,767 departures respectively,” said PT KAI Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo, noting that total departures between March 11 and 13 have already reached 115,384 passengers.

To manage the surge, KAI has allocated over one million seats for the holiday period, with current occupancy at approximately 63%. Peak travel is expected between March 11 and 20, with March 18 identified as the busiest date so far. 

In response to the high demand, the operator is running 68 regular daily trips supplemented by 19 additional trains from major stations. To ensure security and service quality, 721 personnel have been deployed across Jakarta's stations to assist the tens of thousands of travelers heading to Central and East Java.
