Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police deployed 8,340 joint security personnel from the police, military, and local authorities to oversee demonstrations staged by farmers and other civil groups at multiple sites across the capital on Wednesday (24/9/2025).
“The protests are concentrated around the DPR complex, the Monas square, and several ministries,” Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro said, referring to the House of Representatives..
He stressed the massive deployment aims to secure the public’s right to protest while maintaining order.
“People are free to express their views, but they must do so peacefully and within the law. We are here to ensure safety and public order,” Chief Susatyo said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He advised Jakartans to avoid the DPR neighborhood due to potential traffic disruptions. Security officers were instructed not to carry firearms and to act with professionalism and restraint.
Chief Susatyo also urged the public not to fall for misinformation circulating on social media.
