Inp.polri.go.id - New York. President Prabowo Subianto, together with Arab leaders, called on U.S. President Donald Trump to lead efforts to end the war in Gaza. The joint appeal came during a multilateral meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday (23/9/2025).
“We asked for U.S. leadership to resolve the Gaza and Palestinian issue,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono told reporters at UN headquarters, as reported by antaranews.com.
He said leaders urged an immediate ceasefire, long-term peace, and a two-state solution.
President Prabowo attended the closed-door Multilateral Meeting on the Middle East at the UN Security Council Consultation Room at Trump’s invitation. The exclusive forum was limited to countries viewed as having real influence over regional peace, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan. Opening the session, President Trump stressed the urgency of halting the conflict and freeing hostages, calling the gathering “a very important meeting” for Middle East stability.
