Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The West Java Regional Police confirmed on Tuesday (24/9/2024) that more than four stewards were assaulted by supporters of Persib Bandung football club, known as Bobotoh, following the match against Persija Jakarta at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Monday.

"There are more than four victims. The incident has been reported to the Bandung Police," Senior Superintendent Jules Abraham Abast, the West Java Police Head of Public Relations fsaid, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The police are investigating the alleged assault on the stewards.

"We are collecting evidence, including CCTV footage from Si Jalak Harupat and other cameras monitoring the match," he added.

The chaos reportedly stemmed from misunderstandings related to previous matches, where stewards were accused of using physical and verbal violence against supporters.

The altercation occurred after the referee ended the Liga 1 match, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Persib. Supporters from the stands stormed the field, attacking stewards and causing damage to barriers. Police quickly intervened to restore order.
