Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting at a food stall on Jalan Bugis, Tanjung Priok.

North Jakarta Police Chief Superintendent Wahyudi said on Tuesday (24/9/2024) that the suspect, identified as A,  was arrested in Cilincing on 21 September 2024 after a detailed investigation.

The incident occurred early on 18 September 120248 when the victim, AR, was dining with friends. Four other patrons, behaving suspiciously, disrupted the group, prompting AR to confront them. 

The situation escalated when A, who was intoxicated and riding a motorcycle, fired a shot at AR from about a meter away.  The bullet did not penetrate AR's head, according to antaranews.com.

During the arrest, authorities found evidence including a soft gun, a motorcycle, and clothes belonging to the victim. A, a repeat offender previously arrested for theft, faces multiple charges that could lead to a 10-year prison sentence
