Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Press Bureau has apologized and reinstated the special press ID of CNN Indonesia journalist Diana Valencia after it was revoked on Saturday.
The decision was announced following a meeting at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday (29/9/2025), attended by CNN Indonesia’s Editor-in-Chief Titin Rosmasari, Deputy Chair of the Press Council Totok Suryanto, and Palace officials.
“The ID has been returned directly to Ms. Diana in the presence of her Editor-in-Chief. We also want to emphasize that such an incident will not happen again,” said Yusuf Permana, the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The revocation came after Diana questioned President Prabowo Subianto about food poisoning cases linked to the government’s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
The Palace acknowledged the mistake, stressing commitment to press freedom under Indonesia’s 1999 Press Law. CNN Indonesia welcomed the apology, calling it a step toward stronger cooperation with the media.
