Papua Police Partner with Religious Leaders for Peaceful Elections

Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Renwarin has been working with local religious and community leaders to communicate the message of peaceful regional  elections to the public through these leaders.

The Papua Police jurisdiction covers four provinces, including three newly autonomous regions, comprising 29 districts and cities. 

"We hope these leaders will help promote a peaceful regional elections, and we have already held interfaith prayers for this purpose," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

In addition to collaborating with community leaders, the police have launched Operation Mantap Praja, mobilizing personnel to secure the 2024 Regional Head Elections. A total of 10,417 officers have been deployed throughout the Papua Police jurisdiction as the election campaign phase begins.
