Papua Regional Police confirms that the follow-up vote in Papua and three New Autonomous Region on Saturday (2/24/24) goes smoothly and conducive. “We are focusing our attention towards the security situation to ensure that the follow-up votes goes smoothly and conducive,” said Papua Regional Police PR Chief, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo on Sunday (2/25/25). In ensuring the election process goes smoothly, personnel from the ranks of Sub-regional Police were deployed to secure the polling stations. “From the monitoring and reports from the Sub-regional police chiefs of Papua, it is stated that the situation was safe during the election process. On the other hand, we continue to implore the community to together maintain order and respect the democratic process,” said the PR chief. Additionally, Benny revealed that several key officials of Papua Regional Police, including Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri and Police Vice Chief Brigadier General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin, also directly monitored the situation at the polling stations. According to the data of acquired by Papua Regional Police, the follow-up votes were held in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Biak Numfor Regency, Yapen Islands Regency, Boven Digoel Regency, Yalimo Regency, Nabire Regency, and Jayawijaya Regency.
