Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his delegation has departed for New Zealand on Sunday (25/2/2024), commencing a working visit aimed at promoting halal diplomacy on the global stage. The delegation is expected to touch down in New Zealand's largest city on Monday at 10.10 am local time. A series of engagements await the Vice President during his stay, starting with a friendly meeting at the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington and followed by discussions with New Zealand's Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon and Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Winston Peters, along with other dignitaries at the Parliament Building. A highlight of the visit will be Amin's public lecture on inter-religious harmony at Victory University, Wellington, on 28 February 2024. The following day, he is slated to return to Auckland for a Business Forum focusing on the Halal Industry Sector and a National Dialogue with the Indonesian Community in New Zealand. Masduki Baidlowi, the vice president's spokesperson, emphasized the significance of this visit, noting its alignment with Indonesia's commitment to playing a pivotal role in the global halal industry.
