Inp.polri.go.id - Papua. Papuan community leaders and traditional leaders regretted and raised their concerns with violence movement by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that has harmed many parties in the province.

Marianus Mgnaiteko, the traditional leader of the Kamoro Tribe in Mimika, said he was concerned about the KKB movement, suggesting family approaches, both through adat and the church, to end it.

"We indigenous people regret it. Why? How wonderful that Mr. Jokowi has a special concern for how to build good infrastructure from city to village and some people mess things up," said Marianus in Mimika, Central Papua on Tuesday (3/7/2023).

Mimika District youth leader Agustinus Anggaiba said that the violence committed by the KKB could not be justified.

"We are youth leaders so we put forward the humanity of the Egianus group. Papua needs development, not killing and rioting," he said, adding that he wanted Papua to be safe.

Meanwhile, Yonias Kula, an intellectual figure in Mimika and Puncak Regencies, said that while overall condition of Papua has been safe, there were violent cases in 2022 and 2023 by Egianus group, which cultminated in. the hostage of Phillip Mehrtnes, the Susi Air pilot.

"If they don't return, many people will flee here (Mimika), Nabire, and Jayapura," explained Yonias, appealing the youth in Papua not to be easily provoked despite pros and cons about the KKB group.

"Don't get caught up in useless things, it's better for the community, that our high school and junior high school juniors, not easily join Mr. Egianus and his group," he said.
